How Do I...
Request A Home Visit?
Please make every effort to attend the surgery. Patients are requested
to telephone the surgery before 10.00am if a visit is required. Please remember
that several patients can be seen at this surgery in the time that it takes to
complete a home visit.
In recent years some patients' misuse of home visits and out-of-hours care has
put an unreasonable strain on the practice and can adversely affect our abilities
to provide a good quality service. We need to change attitudes as, in the majority
of circumstances, it is an abuse of our time and resources.
Moreover, home visits often result in second-class medical care whereas most patients, even those with serious illness, can be treated better in a well-equipped surgery with a team of trained staff assisting the doctors.
How Do I...
Obtain Test Results?
You may telephone between 2.00 and 3.00pm on Monday, Thursday and Friday only to obtain your results.
How Do I...
Make An Appointment?
We have a mixture of appointments which can be booked up to two weeks in advance or on the day. We also have slots for emergencies every day.
If more than one member of your family needs to see the doctor please make sure you book one appointment for each person. If you have several problems you would like to discuss please book a double appointment.
Text reminders / alerts
We use text messages to send appointment reminders and other information direct to patients’ mobile phones.
The service allows you to cancel appointments quickly and easily if you need to. Ask at reception to find out more and sign up. You can stop using the service at any time if you wish.
Interpreting Service
If you do not speak English with enough confidence to talk about medical problems we can arrange a professional interpreter free of charge. We need at least 24 hours' notice to book an interpreter. A telephone
service is available for urgent/emergency appointments.
